Findhorn Bay is home to a colony of between 200-400 harbour and grey seals, depending on the time of year. At low tide they can be found at the Northern end of the Bay, lying on the sand at the water’s edge, on either side of the mouth of the Bay. They will usually swim away if you try to get close to them, so take a pair of binoculars, and if you have a dog, keep it on a lead or it will scare the seals away. You can check the low tide times on Easytide (choose Burghead).
Sometimes you will also see a seal head or two bobbing in the water when the tide is high in the bay.
