Findhorn Bay Wildlife Watch (formerly known as Friends of Findhorn Bay) is a local citizens group seeking to highlight and support Findhorn Bay as a place of peace and beauty and as a place to witness and learn about the wonders of nature.
Findhorn Bay is designated as a Local Nature Reserve, a Site of Special Scientific Interest, a Ramsar wetland of international importance due its abundant birdlife and an EU Special Protection Area and Special Area of Conservation.
Our Vision is that the beauty, peacefulness and ecological importance of Findhorn Bay is fully acknowledged and respected.
Our Mission is:
- to ensure that Findhorn Bay is recognized primarily as a habitat of international importance for birds, animals, fish and native plants, and that recreational and business activities are in keeping with this; and
- to focus on the importance of protecting the flora, fauna and ecosystems of Findhorn Bay.
Our Aims are:
- to organise events and disseminate information that promotes understanding of nature’s cycles, natural phenomena, fauna, flora and healthy ecosystems; and
- to advocate for activities in and around Findhorn Bay that do not disturb its inhabitants unnecessarily.
